Palmer commented: “Dubai is one of the most exciting and vibrant cities in the world and I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Capital Club.

“With new energy, we will refresh the fabric of the building and its offering for our esteemed members – many of whom have helped shape Dubai. In a city that always looks to the future, we will ensure that the Capital Club is always one step ahead for its members.”

In his most recent role, Palmer served as general manager of Devonshire Club where he oversaw the business from conception to execution over a period of two years.

As GM of Capital Club Dubai, Palmer will manage the team and the long-term strategy and operations of the venue.

He will be responsible for reviving the club by identifying and implementing new practices, adding value through expansion and excellence in services and actively improving membership communications.

Daniel Forster, chief executive officer, Signature Clubs International said: “With his stellar international work record and refreshing outlook of the hospitality industry we are delighted to have Ian Palmer on board as general manager.

“Over the next few months, The Capital Club will see some noticeable changes ensuring that we retain our place as the most prestigious private business club in the region.”
