The Leaders in Hospitality Awards is back for its fourth year and promises to be bigger and better with a total of 29 categories up for grabs.

LEADING NEW HOTEL
A hotel that has brought an exciting new concept and energy to the Middle Eastern market. This hotel will combine creativity, originality and an excellent service and can demonstrate exceptional performance. It must be opened on 1 January, 2018, or later.
LEADING HOTEL GROUP
This award will be awarded to a hotel group that has shown it can think outside of the box and still thrive in a competitive category. Innovation, flair and excellence are all key ingredients for the judges in this category.
SERVICES APARTMENTS OF THE YEAR
This award will go to the serviced apartment that has shown it can deliver guest service that is second to none. The winner will have demonstrated innovation in customer service, amenities and products.
The winner of our Leading Beach Club award will have shown a commitment to providing a lively and fun environment that goes above and beyond what is expected. It will provide entertainment for both young and those maybe a bit older but are still young at heart.
CSR INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR
The Leading CSR Initiative Award will go to a hotel that has planned and executed a particular CSR initiative that has not only captured the imagination but made a tangible difference to the lives of the local community.
LEADING LUXURY HOTEL
The winner of this category will have demonstrated outstanding attention to detail and customer service. This award is for a hotel that has raised the benchmark for luxury in the region. Customer service will be high on the agenda and the winner will provide guests with an experience that caters for discerning luxury travellers.
MID-MARKET HOTEL OF THE YEAR
The winner will show the ability to provide high standard facilities at an accessible cost. The award will go to a hotel that shows it can more than match the requirements of millennials looking for alternatives to high-end options without reducing the quality of service.
RESORT OF THE YEAR
The Leading Resort in the Middle East will be awarded to the outlet that has proven beyond doubt that it provides a relaxing and fun experience for all age groups. The winner will have shown creativity and the ability to think laterally when it comes to providing a package for guests.
LEADING HOTEL F&B OUTLET
This award will go to an outlet that enhances the guest experience by providing an original concept and a high-quality food and beverage offering. With an emphasis on being original and creative the winner will show an ability to compete with the best standalone restaurants on the market.
LOBBY OF THE YEAR
You never get a second chance to make a first impression and this has never been better illustrated than when you enter a hotel for the very first time and reach the lobby. The winner of this category will have shown a unique approach to creating a lobby atmosphere and ambience.
HOTEL SPA OF THE YEAR
The winner will provide a range of treatments, facilities and amenities and put a strong emphasis on an outstanding guest experience. The leading hotel spa will demonstrate a dedication to health and wellbeing of both men and women.
SUSTAINABLE HOTEL OF THE YEAR
This award will go to a hotel that demonstrates an excellence in sustainable practices in terms of energy efficiency, waste management and social responsibility.
LEADING HOTEL INTERIOR
The Middle East is synonymous with luxury, elegance and cutting-edge design when it comes to hotels. That is why this award will be so keenly contested. The winner will be a property that has shown a clear focus on delivering an interior like no other.
INNOVATION OF THE YEAR
All bets are off in this category. The judges are looking for an innovation and concept that has captured the imagination of the public while leading the way for the industry in the region.
BOUTIQUE HOTEL OF THE YEAR
The winner in this category will be a smaller hotel with a unique selling point that makes it stand out from the crowd. With more and more boutique hotels popping up across the globe and, indeed, the region this promises to be one of the more keenly contested categories.
LEADING OTA OF THE YEAR
Our newest award is for the online booking platform. When it comes to hotel booking stays, guests have a choice like never before. So much so that the sheer volume of choices can be overwhelming. The winner of this award will go to an online platform that cuts through the hassle and provides guests with a satisfying and user-friendly experience without compromising on quality.
GENERAL MANAGER OF THE YEAR
This award will go to an individual who has shown outstanding leadership and inspiration to others. The winner will demonstrate a strong passion and is prepared to go the distance to deliver excellence and will show they are not afraid to make hard decisions for the benefit of the hotel.
HOTEL TEAM OF THE YEAR
The winning team in this category will have displayed operational excellence with outstanding efficiency, productivity and quality. They will have demonstrated a seamless communication process that facilitates outstanding customer service across the property.
EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER OF THE YEAR
This award will be received by the Executive Housekeeper who shows an excellence in ensuring rooms are always maintained to the highest standards. They will also demonstrate superb communication and leadership skills to ensure their teams also share their commitment to excellence.
PROCUREMENT MANAGER OF THE YEAR
The winner in this category will have demonstrated the ability to oversee a procurement programme that delivers excellence and value for money across the board. The recipient of this award will have provided tangible results in terms of purchasing goods that have boosted their company’s strategy both in the long and short terms.
IT MANAGER OF THE YEAR
This category will be won by the nominee who shows they have kept their company at the forefront of technology through their decision making. The winner will also have demonstrated the ability to show superb communication skills and offer hardware and software support at all times.
REVENUE MANAGER OF THE YEAR
The winner of this category will have proven statistics to have grown the hotel’s revenue under their leadership through key strategies.
F&B MANAGER OF THE YEAR
This award highlights the achievements of an individual who has showcased outstanding ability in exceeding KPIs, developing and enhancing hotel restaurant concepts, streamlining processes and team leadership.
HOTEL CHEF OF THE YEAR
Open to executive chefs, this category demonstrates outstanding creativity, passion and culinary flair along with exceptional skills in overseeing an entire kitchen operation in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
HOSPITALITY MARKETEER OF THE YEAR
A marketeer who has understands the challenges in the market and always comes up with quick and effective marketing strategies to push their brand will make the Hospitality Marketeer of The Year. This individual will be a proven leader in conceptualising, planning and implementing effective campaigns that have taken the industry by storm.
An individual who is making waves in the Middle East’s hotel scene. This person demonstrates tenacity, creativity and the potential to make a significant impact on the region’s hospitality landscape.
This award will go to a candidate who has dedicated their life to the pursuit of excellence across the hotel industry. Their achievements will have made the industry a better place for, not only those who have worked with them, but for the entire sector.
The winner of this award will have shown a commitment to identifying opportunities in the industry and putting their money where their mouth is, quite literally. The Leading Hospitality Entrepreneur will be someone whose absence from the hospitality sector would have made it a poorer place.
The Leading Hospitality Heavyweight will be someone who is known throughout the industry for their expertise in the sector. The winner will be a leading light in the industry who has the reputation of being an expert in this sector and has the charisma and personality to be the Hospitality Heavyweight of 2018.
