Media One Hotel has recently appointed Connor O’Sullivan as sous chef directly from Killarney, bringing his wide-ranging experience from Ireland to Dubai.
Chef Connor graduated in 2011 with distinction from Institute of Technology in Tralee. Since then, Connor continued to work in several hotels in Ireland such as The Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa, Ard Na Sidhe Country House Hotel, and Dunloe Castle Hotel to refine his culinary skills.
Prior to joining Media One Hotel, Chef Connor was with the Jacques Restaurant in Cork City, where he was in charge as a Senior Chef De Partie responsible to monitoring kitchen stations by keeping up to date on culinary trends and the food safety as per H.A.C.C.P standards.
“Media One Hotel made an impact on me when I visited for Friday Brunch at the beginning of 2015. I thought I would like the opportunity to work here, so I applied as soon as I returned home and luckily was successful,” said Chef Connor.
Executive Chef Girish Babu added: “What I was particularly impressed by Chef Connor’s enthusiastic and pleasant personality, which makes him a great addition to the team. His passion to build a career in the culinary trade, as he strives to be the best chef he can, will ensure he continues with innovation and hard work to create both classical and contemporary dishes for Media One.
During his spare time, Chef Connor also has a keen interest in gardening, travels and talent for music and has received three county medals for traditional Irish music, playing the concertina and banjo.
As sous chef at Media One Hotel, he is responsible for the hotel’s venues in the ground floor and leading the culinary team in caféM.
