Stephen Bennett, general manager of Pulsar Foodstuff Trading, talks to Hotel News ME about their firm’s participation as Category Sponsor at the upcoming Leaders in Hospitality Awards
- What are your core products?
Pulsar Foodstuff Trading, a company which started operating in 1997 are a specialised supplier of personalised minibar products including nuts, sweets, chocolates, crisps, amenities and gifts. Bar snacks which contain many varieties of nuts, fruits and rice based products, fresh olives from The Gourmet Olive Market, and are distributors for the Italian coffee brand, Il Caffe’ Dell’ Emporio.
- Tell us more about the newly launched Il Caffe Dell Emporio
At the beginning of the year we started distributing Il Caffe Dell’ Emporio Coffee. A quality Italian coffee which is roasted in Naples. Pulsar Foodstuff is the distributor of this high quality product for the hotel industry. Later this year our new venture, The Gourmet Olive Market, will make its retail debut in Mercato mall.
- Why have you chosen to partner with The Hotel Leaders Awards 2016?
Being involved in events such as the Leaders in Hospitality Awards offers the ideal platform to stay in touch with our customers. We will have the time to chat with clients who we may not have seen for a while or there may be the opportunity to meet some new faces from the hospitality market. It is always important for a company such as ours to be out there supporting our industry.
- Which category are you most excited about?
The category I am most excited about is the Best New Mid-Market Hotel. Pulsar Foodstuff has always been a supplier to the 5-star hotels and resorts, but there is a huge amount of mid-market hotels now planned for the UAE and as hotel suppliers we are very keen to get to know this new market and offer solutions to their requirements.
- Why is it important for the industry to come together for events like this?
It is important that the people in our industry, who have put in such an effort that they are recognised and rewarded for their efforts. It offers great humility to the winners and also pushes others forward in the pursuit of excellence. That is something from the hotels to the suppliers that everybody wants to achieve.
