FCS Computer Systems has joined the sponsor line-up at this year’s Executive Housekeepers Conference, taking place on November 21, 2016 at The Conrad Hotel, Dubai.
Eric Rogers, Vice President EMEA for FCS Computer Systems explains why the company has chosen to support the event for the second year running and come on board as the Workshop Sponsor once more.
Can you elaborate on some of FCS Computer Systems services?
FCS has been working in the Middle East for many years and is a leading provider of hospitality operational software throughout the region. Solutions from FCS can be found in some of the region’s most iconic hotels, including Burj Al Arab, Emirates Palace, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Atlantis The Palm, The Address Jumeirah Beach and Anantara the Palm– to name but a few. From job dispatch, engineering preventative maintenance and housekeeping, to glitch management and the ubiquitous FCS Billing & Voicemail solutions, FCS hotel partners use our solutions to ensure they can provide the best service to their guests.
We are very pleased to sponsor the Executive Housekeepers Conference for the second consecutive year this year. The event is the ideal platform for us to explain to the professional housekeeping community in the Middle East what solutions we offer, how they can help optimize housekeeping operations, and address issues that housekeeping professionals might not have considered to date.
How will you add to the Conference with your sponsorship?
Housekeeping has been a Cinderella department for many years, with relatively low salaries and high turnover of staff, it offers daily challenges to the management – many of whom deserve a medal! With eHousekeeping, we have a very strong solution aimed squarely at this function within the hotel operation. The efficiency savings are clear, as is the saving in paper – and associated costs. With eHousekeeping, the Housekeeping department is finally able to benefit from the development in technology to further improve guest satisfaction, improve staff satisfaction – and save trees in the process.
What is your take on the current landscape of the hospitality industry and what future trends do you anticipate to see in 2017?
We have witnessed a lot of change and growth since we started working with hotels in the Middle East 16 years ago, with some of the world’s most stunning properties having been built here. Considering the projected growth of the hotel sector in the region we look forward to exciting times ahead.
Looking forward, we see a lot of potential for the mid-scale hotel sector, with many of the international brands planning to open their 2-3-and-4-star brands in the region which is an exciting development.
Why are events such as the Executive Housekeepers Conference important for the industry?
Having an event purely focused on housekeeping is great as it allows us to provide a clearly focused message to our current and prospective hotel partners. It also gives us an important opportunity to hear from the housekeepers and learn more about the current challenges the community faces. I have never worked in housekeeping myself, so as a vendor to the sector, I rely on events like these to understand where we are going right, and also what we can do to further enhance our technology solutions.
What product innovations to you look forward to sharing with the delegates?
We recently added a number of new features to our housekeeping solution, including a “Panic Button” and also QR Code to ensure the correct room is being cleaned. However probably the most significant innovation is the M2Talk option – effectively building in a Walkie-Talkie system into the mHousekeeping app to allow for further improvements in communication.
