Nick Alvis and Scott Price of folly by Nick and Scott to take over the local pub.
Staying true to their British roots, Nick Alvis and Scott Price have taken over The Black Lion at H Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road and have stripped back the food menu, creating a celebration of English pub classics with signatures including sausage rolls with BBQ dip, fish and chips, crushed peas and tartare sauce and hearty beef & Murphy’s pudding with mash and gravy on offer.
Along with their business partner, Viktorija Paplauskiene, the trio behind folly by Nick & Scott have taken inspiration from pubs and hangouts where they spent their time while living in the UK. Now known as The Lion by Nick & Scott, the traditional brew pub will also be home to live sports, with eight individual screens.
The bar stocks seasonal ales with an array of bottles and drafts on offer and the interiors have been refreshed with a new colour palate and layout.
Scott price commented on the opening saying: “We’ve always wanted to be landlords so when the opportunity to take over The Black Lion came our way, it was something we couldn’t really say no to. Myself and Nick are big sports fans so to combine that with our love of food then it’s the perfect mix.
We’re looking forward to getting stared and meeting the regulars”.
Backed by local restaurateur, Gates Hospitality, The Lion by Nick & Scott will be the second venue in the Nick & Scott portfolio.
