The venue in Souk Al Bahar will relaunch in September 2018, following a temporary closure in the summer, with a new logo, upgraded venue and a new menu.

It is the first outlet from the South African steakhouse brand to undergo the renovation, which will last for around 120 days.

A pioneer in the dining scene, Food Fund International have announced a brand image refresh, aligned with their intention to provide consumers with a whole experiential look and feel.

“After 14 years of serving guests in the UAE, this new chapter for The Meat Co will facilitate a long held desire to take visitors on an even more personal dining experience. Our aim is to create an interactive journey representing a culinary evolution”, said Johnny Tomazos, CEO, Food Fund International.

“We are excited to reopen our doors after summer, coinciding with the introduction of an extensive new menu, featuring a range of freshly prepared dishes, offer first-class service whilst retaining the restaurant’s original charm”, he added.

Guests will immediately be welcomed into a redesigned and extended space that spans 8,300 square-feet, with the capacity to seat 320 diners. The venue is comprised of one expansive elegant indoor dining area and bar, including an outdoor terrace and an alfresco lounge.

The restaurant has been heavily influenced and fully restored to incorporate a contemporary African feel. The signature materials in the design for the new brand are antique brass, marble, raw plastered walls and timber.

“The identity and heritage have played a crucial role in shaping the design and creative process”, says Jackie FitzGerald and Dayle Wener from Story Design Collective.

A refined combination of African tones, from charcoal, sand and dirty green are found in the tactile fabric combinations of velvet and leather, alongside cultural artwork to encapsulate the elegance and heritage characterised by the brand.

While The Meat Co gastronomic kitchen defines quintessential South African fare using seasonal ingredients, and innovative flavours – the new menu makes a fitting accompaniment to the famous steak offering.
