Shannon Stickells joins Southern Sun Abu Dhabi as the new food & beverage director from Abu Dhabi National Hotels.
Utilising over 20 years of specialist experience from leading hotels across globe including Australia, USA, Asia and international cruise ship, Stickells will be responsible for the operations of the hotel’s six F&B outlets including The Foundry steakhouse and Blu Sky Lounge & Grill as well as the banquet and conference facilities.
Shannon’s determination to strive for the best has been one of his strongest asset, underlining his career trajectory ever since he began back in the 90’s in Sydney working at iconic restaurants like Neil Perry’s Rockpool and Bennelong at the Opera House. Thereafter, he held different positions before relocating to Dubai to work at the world’s first and only 7-star hotel, Jumeirah’s Burj Al Arab as head sommelier.
Recently, Shannon held various Managerial positions, ranging from assistant food and beverage director, to director of F&B with the Rotana Group and TDIC.
Shannon is also a certified sommelier and tutor with WSET.
