Hospitality management company, Swiss-Belhotel International, has signed an agreement to manage a property in Alexandria, Egypt.

The hotel is a part of a mixed-use complex situated on a prime location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and represents Swiss-Belhotel International’s first foray into Egypt as its expansion in the Middle East continues to gather pace. Swiss-Belhotel Marseilia (3)

The Swiss-Belhotel Marseilia is set to open on Alexandria Beach in 2018, and will boast more than 200 4-star international-standard hotel rooms and apartments, over 500 residential units.

Swiss-Belhotel International chairman and president, Gavin Faull said: “Swiss-Belhotel International is delighted to announce our first project in Egypt in partnership with Marseilia Group, one of the most prestigious developers in the country.

“Egypt and this stunning, historical location on the Mediterranean are a very strong fit for the Swiss-Belhotel International brand and we look forward to bringing our distinct blend of professionalism, passion and international standards to the destination.”

Marseilia Property Investment Chairman, Yasser Ragab added: “We have identified a gap in the market to provide a high standard of hospitality and residential living in Egypt and now we have found the best partner to deliver our vision to guests.

“We have secured one of the last plots of land on the beachfront overlooking the Mediterranean and finalised the planning of what will be Egypt’s first mixed-use development consisting of hotel, hotel apartments and residential apartments appealing to the growing numbers of tourists and residents in the destination.”

Swiss-Belhotel International’s portfolio in the Middle East consists of 13 hotels, with five currently operating and a further eight under development.

Total properties operating globally number 135 hotels and resorts, in Asia-Pacific destinations such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East and Europe.
