UAE- based initiative Agriculture Box has launched organic farming boxes for restaurants, homes, schools and businesses.

The boxes can be used to grow organic fruit, vegetables and aromatic herbs, and are made of PEFC-certified high grade kiln dried Austrian spruce, which is durable at 36mm thick.

Everything needed to grow produce is provided in the box, including compost, seeds, an irrigation and drainage system, an automation system and organic fertiliser, and delivery and installation is included.

Founder of Agriculture Box, Arnaud Fabre commented: “We can grow most vegetables, herbs and tomatoes of gourmet quality with high level of nutrients. We make our own soil and organic fertiliser, respecting the principles of soil microbiology.

The boxes must be placed outdoors to be exposed to at least three hours of sun per day.

Designed for the UAE’s arid climate, the boxes can even be used during the hot summer months.

The Agriculture Box is available in two sizes:

  • Large (for gardens) – 2m x 1m x 0.5m with a 10cm stand
  • Small (for balconies, terraces or rooftops): 1m x 23cm x 23cm, with a 30-50 cm stand.
