
Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort is delighted to introduce two distinguished professionals to its culinary team, further enhancing the resort’s reputation for delivering elevated and unique dining experiences.
Joining the esteemed team members at the resort are Dominic Petzold, the new Cluster Executive Chef, and Fayrouz Dargueche, Sommelier. Both Chef Dominic and Fayrouz will bring considerable talent and expertise to their roles and will be an exciting addition, displaying a passion for cuisine and wines.
Chef Dominic Petzold, with an illustrious career spanning two decades, has established himself as a culinary force to be reckoned with. Beginning his journey in Germany, Dominic studied at a private school dedicated to the culinary arts. He then honed his skills in esteemed establishments across Austria, gaining invaluable experiences along the way. For the past 16 years, Dominic has been an integral part of the Dubai culinary scene, leaving an indelible mark at Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, where he spent over five years and the last two as Complex Director of Culinary.
Over the past year, Dominic has spearheaded a culinary transformation at Le Meridien Dubai Hotel, captivating guests with thrilling dining experiences. Through his ingenuity, Dominic introduced interactive F&B stations that not only tantalised tastebuds but also engaged guests in the gastronomic process.
His career highlights include being honoured with the prestigious Marriott Global Chef 2018 – Award of Culinary Excellence and being recognised as the Highly Commended Executive Chef of The Year in 2018 by Hotelier Middle East. His exceptional talent also earned him a finalist spot in the Young Chef of the Year 2013 competition held in Venice, Italy.

Fayrouz Dargueche, the new Sommelier, brings her excellent hospitality skills and dedication to guest experience to the Thai-inspired resort. Fluent in three languages – English, Arabic, and French – Fayrouz holds a Bachelor of Hospitality Management from Vatel International French School of Hospitality and Tourism. Her experience as the Sommelier at Josette Restaurant in Dubai allowed her to adeptly advise guests on wine pairings tailored to their unique tastes, ensuring their dining experiences are heightened. During her brief tenure as a VIP Butler at Fairmont Quasar Istanbul, Fayrouz showcased her impeccable guest service, applying her sommelier skills to promote and upsell luxurious offerings to VIP guests. Her commitment to providing exceptional customer service and extensive knowledge of wines, demonstrated by her WSET level 2 certification, promise to enrich dining experiences at the resort.
